David Gouny is a french artist, he leaves and work in the suburb of Paris.
In 2003 David is called out by a scientific study realized in the United States which proves that when we see in a regular way persons in overweight, we increase by
40 % the risk of finding oneself in overweight. We would thus become obese by «habitus». Shocked by these societal conclusions, David begins a work of reflection on the overweithness by «contamination». He begins to paint big women in a style which he will name«sausage». He questions by this the society which rejects the difference and would move towards a «standard by contamination».
These big women soon invade the urban space, in a procession of positions inspired by the mythical scenes of the cinematographic art or of the art as such.
Then David turns to objects symptoms and causes of these excesses, the permanent «king size». Today, the «Fat virus» of David takes the shape of objects sewn by hand with vinyl fabrics, contaminating the references of the consumer society, those who are brought to disappear gobbled up by the modernization and those
who bury us by their omnipresence.
