Born in 1959 in the picturesque enclave of Saint Tropez, Manuèle Bernardi emerged as a luminary in the world of contemporary art, leaving an indelible mark through her profound creativity and distinctive artistic trajectory. Guided by an innate passion for self-expression, Bernardi embarked on an odyssey that traversed diverse mediums and themes, culminating in a body of work that is as deeply personal as it is universally resonant.

Bernardi's early academic journey led her to the prestigious halls of the Académie Roederer and the Beaux-Arts in Paris. In 1983, armed with knowledge and honed skills, she embraced the world as a decorator and costume designer, infusing her surroundings with her artistic sensibilities. However, a pivotal juncture arrived in 1990 when she stood at a crossroads, facing a choice that would redefine her artistic path. With unwavering determination, Bernardi opted to veer towards the realm of personal expressions, setting the stage for a transformational period marked by drawing and sculpting.

As the years unfolded, her artistic evolution continued to manifest in exciting and innovative ways. In 2014, a noticeable shift occurred as she ventured into the captivating medium of installations, encapsulated within the alluring embrace of plexiglass. This marked a remarkable departure, representing not only a change in materials but also a change in her artistic dialogue with the world. These installations became portals to her imagination, allowing viewers to immerse themselves in the intricate interplay of form, light, and space.

In 2021, the journey took another exhilarating turn as Bernardi unveiled a series of new installations, this time adorning the delicate canvas of paper. The transition to this new medium showcased her adaptability and perpetual desire to explore new avenues for her artistic expression. A keen observer of the natural world, Bernardi found inspiration in the delicate interplay between flora and fauna, extracting profound metaphors for human connections and emotions from the silent conversations of nature.
While each of her artworks is deeply personal, echoing the thoughts and emotions that pulse within her, they paradoxically possess a universal quality. The intricate narratives she weaves with her sculptures and installations transcend individual experiences, resonating with the viewer on a profound and empathetic level. Bernardi's creations become bridges that span the chasm between the artist and the world, inviting us to partake in her musings and engage with the emotions that underscore human existence.

In the tapestry of Manuèle Bernardi's artistic journey, the threads of personal growth, creative exploration, and a universal connection are seamlessly woven. From her early days in Paris to her experimentation with installations and her foray into the realm of paper, each phase represents a step towards self-discovery and a deeper communion with the world around her. Her artistry is an invitation to explore the boundaries of one's imagination, to appreciate the interconnectedness of all life, and to embrace the profound beauty that emerges when creativity becomes a vessel for emotions, stories, and shared experiences.
